Dubai Islands, previously known as Deira Islands, is an artificial archipelago located off the northeastern coast of Dubai, adjacent to the historic Deira district. The development is led by Nakheel and is organised into several separate islands, offering new beachfront areas along with proximity to Port Rashid and Dubai Maritime City. The islands are connected to the mainland by road via a dedicated bridge.
The development is planned as a mixed-use destination, with residential offerings including apartments, townhouses, villas, and branded residences, alongside hotels, marinas, and retail areas. Properties are available on a freehold basis, allowing both UAE nationals and foreign buyers to hold full ownership. As a newer development, infrastructure and amenities are being delivered in phases, with private vehicle access currently the primary means of transport to and around the islands.
Dubai Islands sits within reach of Dubai International Airport and Downtown Dubai, and close to the older commercial districts of Deira and Bur Dubai. It draws buyers seeking newly built waterfront property with freehold ownership, at a different stage of development than more established coastal areas of the city.
Nakheel is a major Dubai master developer behind landmark freehold communities such as Palm Jumeirah.
Its projects sit within regulated off-plan frameworks; escrow and SPA terms follow the applicable Dubai Land Department requirements for each release.
